Fines in Dubai
Fines: charged to the driver. They can appear after the rental (administrative delay).
How it works
- Fines can be triggered by radars (speeding), cameras (red lights), or checks.
- They are not always reported instantly: some fines appear after a few days.
- If a fine occurs during a rental, the standard rule is: the fine is due by the driver / renter (official amount).

Other common fines
- Phone in hand while driving: 800 AED + 4 black points
- Running a red light (car): 1 000 AED + 12 black points + 30 days confiscation
- Driving below the minimum speed (if posted): 400 AED
